| fgpina | 8.0 | Colecção | Being a great fan of the Command Colors gaming system, Manoeuvre is positioned in the same category: a 2 player historical wargame that plays within around 1 hour. But despite preferring the ancient Roman and Greek period to the Napoleonic age, Manoeuvre could possibly be brought to the table more often, for the following reasons: much easier to explain; super fast to setup and to get things back in the box at the end; more asymmetrical play (I tend to prefer asymmetric games where players have to choose different strategies); slightly less luck factor (I enjoy luck, but in moderate bits); possible more tense endgame situation with the last card deck determining the end of day/battle. The only things that I miss in the box (or in fact in the rules) are the historical scenarios. I know that some non-official scenarios can be found here in the bgg, but I was used to the fantastic CC official scenarios. |
